Benno 100

Congratulations to club legend Nick Benton, who will line up in his 100th First Grade match for Port Adelaide on Saturday!

Nick joined us in 2012 and quickly established himself as one of the competition’s top players. He played a vital role during the 2013/14 season captaining the club to a drought breaking premiership. A big game player who often gets the prized wickets of the opposition’s best batsman. Benno made his first-class debut for South Australia in March 2015 and finished with 8 matches across two formats for the Redbacks. He has featured in Port Premierships across all 3 formats, claiming best on ground twice.

- 227 Wickets @ 18.29 - 2042 Runs @ 21.49 - BBI: 7/37 vs Southern Districts - HS: 125 vs Prospect - 8 x Fifties, 1 x Century - 17 x 5 Wicket Hauls - 1 x 10 Wicket Haul - 2013/14 Two Day premiership player (Awarded David Hookes medal as Best on Ground) - 2017/18 One Day premiership player (Awarded Bob Zadow medal as Best on Ground) - 2021/22 Twenty20 Premiership player. - SACA Team of the Year member (2013/14, 2014/15, 2018/19) - E.W Freeman Medal (2021/22)

Nick becomes the 5th player to reach 100 First Grade games in the past 25 years, joining Darryl Monger, Matthew Weeks, Shane Chatto and Adam Dilley.
